Thinking about buying a used Audi A6 or BMW, NEED help/suggestions to find what to look for in buying?

The used cars i have in mind range from 2000-2004's and all have 90-110k miles on them with 1-2 previous owners. When looking at the CARFAX and such, what details should be red flags or positive reports. Any information or advice will greatly help. THANK YOU

You don't need to worry about whatever red flags appear. Since they are both performance brands from Germany, you will be unable to afford any repairs and the insurance within a year. Not to mention they both have terrible reliability.
