I've been looking at some used cars lately, and I've narrowed my choices down to either a Dodge Charger or a Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with either of these cars or heard any reviews about them that I should be aware of before buying?

The main points I'm looking for are reasonable gas mileage, cabin space, storage space (interior or exterior)....and a little horsepower wouldn't hurt either.

**I'm in the 10k-15k price range if anyone has any other recommendations in this range.

avoid 06 V8 Charger

avoid the 07 V6 Sport Trac

both 08's are good.

I found the Ford's ride to be loose, when fully loaded with people it settles down but if you drive by yourself might need to put some weight in the bed.

the Charger is about the only Dodge that doesn't have terrible reliability ratings.

neither gets good mpg but they are big so that's part of the package.

make sure you get side curtain air bags with the Charger without them the crash test results are poor.

I Have an 03 Sport Trac XLT. Its great. Smooth ride like a car yet drives like a truck. I had a ranger before I got my Sport Trac also. It was too small and I wanted more room for passengers. Well now I have it. Loads of room in the back so people can sit comfortably. Bed is all Heavy Duty Plastic so no paint scratches to worry about or bed liners to buy. Bed size is a little small but drop the tailgate and flip out the rack and you can make it as long as a small ranger bed. Decent gas mileage for a truck and plenty of power for a 4.0 liter V6. You can't go wrong.
