I need a 36 month lease. I am a college student so I need something economical. I totaled my last car in a serious accident and I was injured so I need something safe. Oh and I would like to go American but if U think you can sway me, go ahead.
I am debating between a Ford Focus sedan http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/focussedan/gallery/photos/or a Chevy Cobalt coupe http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicles/2009/cobaltcoupe/gallery.do

I am definetly going to agree with Viv. SUBARU is the safest way to go. Not only is the car beautiful on the outside, but the engine! I have a 2007 subaru impreza WRX STI. Handling in that car can't be beat. As for the all wheel drive? Or how about the even weight distribution? Subaru is definetly the way to go. Perforated disk breaks, not to mention only round the 20k range. These cars are also reliable. I've heard of people with 250k+ miles on their subaru.3yr 36k mile powertrain warranty. Not only does it come standard with front and passenger airbags but even with side curtain impact airbags. You really should give SUBARU a look. There is so much more but I'm too tired to go on. Good luck, and I hope you give subaru a chance. Btw my gf was looking at cobalts and in my opinion I think the interior of the cobalt looks like crap ( an old nissan or really old Honda). Despite the fact chevy offers a great 5yr 100k mile powertrain warranty. But I still think that a subaru is definetly the best choice. Go for a regular subaru impreza or the 2010 subaru legacy. Very safe cars in my opinion . I think five star front crash rating. Good luck and do some research before you get a lemon. Btw what's your budget. 2010 Cobalt regular is bout 18k. And subaru impreza is about 19k I think. Oh and p.s. I would not suggest leasing any car, but if you lease a subaru it hAs lots of great options and deals. That really took forever. It's like a college paper. Was it persuasive? Oh and p.p.s I think ford might be doing a 6yr 100k mile powertrain warranty( covers engine and transmission if you didn't know) good luck again.

I Would go for the ford fusion i tend to see more of them on the road than the cobalt, Plus who knows if chevy will be around long either way they are american cars but i can assure you most of the parts probably come from another country and they might of even been assembled in mexico. Good luck with your choice go for the FORD:)

I wouldn't go for an American car if you want it "safe".

I'd get a Japanese car.

Not that American cars are not safe, but I believe that Japanese are better made!

What about Honda civic?
