Question:
What should I consider when buying a car?

Like gas mileage and such.
Also, is there a car you would recommend? I'd like an SUV if anything.
And I've never been able to control a standard very well, so automatic is my thing.

I know almost nothing about cars and I want to be sure I don't regret what I buy!
Thanks in advance!

I would start with a few basic questions -

1. Body-style - you've already indicated you want an SUV

2. Price Range?

3. Other details such as Gas/ Hybrid, and 2WD/ 4WD, Manual/ Automatic

This should already give you a shortlist of cars you should be looking into.

The next step is what in a car do you care more about? Safety, Reliability, Power, Customer Ratings, etc. What's more important to you and what's less, and that should help you identify the SUV that's best for your needs.

Great to hear you're shopping for a new vehicle. I know that this can be both exciting and frustrating at the same time given all the options available. Based on your criteria, the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox is one to take a look at. The Equinox is durable, has some great features, and is fuel efficient. Amongst my favorite features included are the six-speed automatic transmission, the V6 engine for optimal performance, Sirius XM Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and OnStar emergency connection packages. At 32 highway/22 city gas per mile gallon average, this is quite efficient for an SUV style vehicle. Other models to check out are the Chevy Traverse, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, or the Pontiac Vibe. Be sure to take some of them out for a test ride. Good luck in your car search and don't rush in your decision!

First and foremost, money! What can you afford?

If you like SUV's you'll spend more on gas, tires, maintenance etc.

Consider NOT buying a new car.

Very few millionaires buy new cars. Most buy used. Theres a reason why they are millionaires.
