Question:
What import car is best for street/track use?

I currently own a 1993 3000gt vr4. However, im having second thoughts on keeping this car. I was planning on selling it but i have no future plans for the next car. I usually don't post questions (Fact: This is the first question i've ever posted) but i need help from car enthusiasts. If you don't know my car is twin turbo all wheel drive. But.. weighs over 3800 LBS!!! I want something with the same characteristics. Style, Speed, Turbo, All Wheel Drive, and Sex Appeal, but with less weight. I plan on making this car street legal and it will be a daily but i want to put some decent power into it as well. Basically what im asking is give me your opinions on what cars are good and reliable. If you've ever driven or owned a car in mind please inform. Im looking for something along the lines of nsx, gti, supra, evo (before the x model), sti's, etc.
P.S. Sorry about the long post, grammar, and improper use of punctuation. Thanks.

I think the nsx would be the best choice depends on your budget it's exotic you dont see that many of them it's a really good handling car almost an everyday supercar since it's just a rebadged Honda with Acura but with the awesome reliability.

With some of the choices you like an evo 8 wouldn't be that bad it looks nice and clean it's fast and can be made faster with modding the engine, it's all wheel drive quick of the line and it has great handling.

I own a c5 z06

It's another car to consider their extremely cheap now Ive had mine for two years it's really quick handles nice through the turns especially nice to autocross in or mountain runs. I will admit the ride is rough but livable with. Says 405 bhp at the crank I dynoed 371 rwhp with just a k and n drop in filter the engines underrated from the factory. Yet I get 29 mpg highway 19 city and 23 combined.

Also depending how big your budget is a c6 z06 wouldnt be bad either has better styling and more horsepower. But one of the best to consider in getting would be a Nissan R35 GTR it has supreme handling. all wheel drive and extremely fast. but if your on a tight budget. A c5 z06 or a evo 7-9 wouldn't be bad.

There are a few cars. The Mazda RX-7 Spirit R. There is the Mazda RX-7 in America, but the Japenese version is more powerful and the Spirit R is a special edition RX-7 with even more power. There is also the Honda NSX Type R. We have the Acura NSX in America, but the Japanese have Honda NSX and the Type-R has even more power and is rarer. There is the Nissan Skyline GT-R. You should know that this car is illegal in America to drive. This is also a great choice and a fast car. There is the Nissan 240sx S15 Silvia. This is the newer version os the latest 240sx that America has. We have the S14 Silvia. Japan has the newer S15 Silvia. This car is usually used in drifting. The Japanese version of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI has more power and more speed and better handling. The Mitsubishi FTO is a nice FWD sportscar with a 200HP engine from the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Of coarse, there Toyota Supra is also faster than ours.

Depending on how hard core you are, consider a Lotus Elise. They can be picked up quite reasonably on the used market. The downside is that they could never be called reliable and the parts costs are typically Lotus. But for a driver's car few come close. I had a Lotus Europa 40 years ago when I was a carefree bachelor and it kept me busy in the garage, but I still miss driving that little thing. It weighed less than half what the 3000GT weighs... 1475 lbs curb weight. The Lotus is not AWD but when you are driving a Lotus you don't care about such things.

It looks like you've already got a good idea of what is out there and available.

A suggestion I have for something a bit different, that you don't mention is a Toyota Caldina GT4. It's a 4WD, 2L turbo with a lot of mechanical similarities to the Celica GT4 but... it's a sporty estate car haha! At least it would be very practical for daily use.

If you want advice from car enthusiasts, why not post on a car site, in your own country?
