I want something cool to drive, something good on gas. Something retro, something with all its paint stripped so i can repaint it. Something I can put money into and have it for along time. Something i can drive places but feel safe in. Something cheap. am i asking for the impossible? I already own a car, a little chev prizem 2002. people keep ripping the door handles off and i have to replace them almost every 3 months, from pick-a-part. I love my car but I want something I can express myself with. something I can put skulls and green flames on. Something I can work on myself. a classic, a eye turner. I will even settle for anything good on gas. Could you post links or where I could find a old car like this?

Take a look a Studebakers on the national web site http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/ under classified ads. There are lots of vendors for parts and they always turn heads. The Hawks 1962-1964 are the best looking for me. Gary

Don't know you definition of retro/classic. Anything in the '60 and '70 will suck gas and not cheap anymore. What an AMC Pacer or something?

Want good mpg then most likely a Japanese car.

1990~91 Civic wagon. Good mpg, cheap, not that safe... but cheap, cheap to fix, reliable, and can be cool.

Consider a 1970-76 Dodge Dart/ Plymouth Valiant.

Engine and body parts are available for these cars and they are very easy to work on.

The 198 and 225 slant 6 engine are economical too.
