Hi first of all my peugeot 206 was registered in 2000 so that makes my car just under 10years old, rumours says your car has to be 10years old (do i qualify?), then dealers offer £2000-£2500 discount towards their new or nearly new car. Upon speaking to someone in the garage, they said dealers probably have their car price 2grand up then the normal price to compensate for this. I should perhaps go in without my car first, get them to reduce price on car, then next day tell them i want to exchange it for my old car....
Can anyone also recommend dealers who offer this trade...

It's no rumour, the car has to be 10 years or over to qualify for that scheme. That said, there is nothing stopping you from part exchanging it for a nearly new model. Especially since most cars lose at least £2k just for leaving the forecourt!

the car has to be at least 10 yrs old there is a specific date that it has to be registered before to qualify and u have to have owned it for more than 12 months. as far as i know prices are not being bumped up selling new cars at the moment is difficult enough without bumping prices up. my daughter has just taken advantage of this scheme trading her R reg fiesta for a new mini and got in total nearly 2500 off the price after bargaining plus some promotional things thrown in t shirts, bag, key ring, watch.
