I really believe that Toyota has a leg up over Honda with the Prius. They have been making hybrids longer, and there definetely is a slight engineering edge to their drive system than Honda's - Both are great manfacturers- I actually prefer Honda- but the Prius beats the Civic Hybrid in virtually ever catagory (except looks...but anyway...) The only concern I see for ANY current hybrid model is long-term reliability- both Honda and Toyota make bullet-proof cars, mechanically speaking, but the gas/electric nature of the powerplants is simply an unknown factor- only time will tell.
