I want to buy a used car but I don't know how much I should save. I know the prices vary but what is the average price for a reliable used car, maybe a Honda or something small. Oh, yeah how many miles should it have on it? Please help!!
Thanks

you can go on to www.craigslist.com and find used cars for cheap. I found a 1988 Acura Legend for $800.00. The car runs great and I have not had any problems with the car. I have had it for over 8 months. Yo just have to be patient and have a mechanic check out the car before you buy it.

If you check your local paper you can get a feel for the prices, the year of the car, and at what mileage it would be for the different prices they advertise. You can always make an offer for what you believe it's worth. Also check kbb.com or any of the websites that deals with cars like edmunds.com and use their tools to find the car you like. You can even check the price of a car like you were selling them and see how much a seller would price their car. If you can't bring a parent or an uncle or aunt, ask your friends or someone you know who has bought a car in the past. They can help you decide.

What you have got to ask your self is; what is that this going to fee you sooner or later? You are watching at a $2400 fix for a tight auto with handiest eighty,000 and relativly more recent mannequin. after it's performed it's going to as a rule be exceptional and pushed with out disorders for a even as except you're discovering extra to be flawed. although you bought it as is, you would get at such a lot $2000 for the auto. so if you are taking the 2400 and 2000 you've 4400 to spend on a brand new used auto. A $4400 auto isn't the finest on the earth. you're watching at purchasing a older mannequin, ninety eight or older, with larger mileage. as that stands, you're watching at disorders even quicker once more along with your new used auto, and for that reason going to have got to spend extra money solving that, when you consider that you are going to under no circumstances purchase a used auto with no need to repair some thing. So, i might say repair the auto to your 2400, and be performed with repayments. That is the great factor, not more repayments. so, relying on what your per 30 days fee was once, you might nonetheless be saving extra money by means of repairing it. ask your self how so much have you ever stored for the reason that the repayments had been completed, does it outweigh what the upkeep might be? simply what i feel will have to be performed.

If you can save about $3,000 you can get a good used car. I'd stick with Honda, Nissan, Toyota in that order. A late 90s Civic or Altima with 100-150K on it would make a good car.
Ask questions to find out if it has been well maintained, non-smoker and not rusted.
