I signed the papers to buy it as is but the car started running hot 2 weeks after buying it. 5 different mechanics have looked at it changed thermostat, radiator cap, flushed the entire system, and change the water pump. They can't figure out why it is running hot. I called the car lot to tell them about the problem they picked it up and said they fixed it 10 miles on the way home it was hot again. Come to find out a lady had it b4 me and let iT get repoed because she had the same problem. They have told me I could just change out the car for another but then keep pushing that car back in my face saying its fixed. Is there anything I can do.

"I signed the papers to buy it as is but the car started running hot 2 weeks after buying it". - its your car. You need to fix it

"5 different mechanics have looked at it changed thermostat, radiator cap, flushed the entire system, and change the water pump. They can't figure out why it is running hot" --- then find a real mechanic. A real mechanic does a diagnostic test to deermine the cause of a problem. A shadetree flunky replaces random parts hopng for a cure. A real mechanic stands beind his work. Shadetree flunkies charge you for wark that doesnt do the job, then shrug their shoulders when the issue persists. Get a real mechanic.

Take another car, keep paying to fix this one. They already gave you the only options you have. Be glad they are willing to work with you at all. Legally, this is your problem, not theirs

Being they have already changed all those parts, the only thing left is to verify the radiator cooling fans are coming on when it gets hot. Does it cool down after you turn on the heater? If so, then the radiator needs to be replaced, not just flushed. Did they check the coolant for combustion gases? If it is in the coolant, then it is a head gasket leaking and major $$$

Document every time you have had to get it worked on, and start a complaint with your BBB chapter and then file a complaint with your state's "office of consumer affairs". When the investigator starts contacting them for more info, the dealer will become helpful...

As a side note, some drivers have cured the overheating issue by putting coolant additive in the radiator such as "water wetter"

That seems to be the issue with buying used cars, generally it's really important to give it a good test drive and check up before getting the purchase agreement.

However while you likely cannot return the car, you might want to get good mechanic to check it out again such as the cooling system.

Sell it and buy something else.

This is the risk you take when you buy a car from a used car dealer and don't have it inspected PRIOR to making the purchase. Leason learned. Inspect and verify before handing over your money.

often a used automobile lot does a 50/50 interior of 30 days. some do it for the dimensions which you're paying and upload it to your stability, so which you purely save making money. it takes place. autos break.

Sounds like they are giving you more options than they have to.

Pick another car or keep the one you have.

Most used cars are sold without a warranty ("as is"), so you are stuck. The only thing you could do now is take them up on their offer to change to a different car - if they are really serious about that.
