Is there any protection for used car buyers in Arkansas?

I bought a car from a used car dealer in Arkansas and found out the second day that it has a blown head gasket and will cost a couple grand to fix along with 10 other codes that need to be fixed. I need to know if it can be legally returned.

There sure is!



Most states have what they call "lemon laws" to protect consumers who buy used vehicles.

Unfortunately Arkansas doesn't have a lemon law for used cars. Some states have some protection but it's minimal at best.



You should try and work an agreement with the seller if you haven't done so. If that doesn't help then contact the BBB and the Attorney General's office.



As the other post mentioned, the best way to protect yourself (in the future) is to know and research as much as you can about the procedures and processes of buying a used car.



Seems simple, and it is, but you have to know before you go so to speak.

There are laws conserning especialy auto sales in all states and the fed. Get to know the laws and that will help some.



If it is sold as is then you have nothing to say.



Casual sales seldom have any protection unless it can be proven that the seller deliberately misrepresented the vehicle.



The only real prjotection is to know enough about cars to know what you are getting. If you do not then find someone to help you that does.
