I've been seeing all these advertisements everywhere about switching to environmental friendly alternatives both with factories and cars.

I'll be damned if I have to settle for a Hybrid or some electric car. I've wanted an 8-cylinder since 2001 and I WILL have that 8-cylinder 300+ hp, I don't care what anybody says about the environment.

I would rather have an 8-cylinder even over one of those ugly new "FutureCars" on the Discovery Channel EVEN IF they are fast.

So how much more time do I have to still get an 8-cylinder and enjoy speeding in it before they try outlawing those 8-cylinder musclecars?

Mustang and Corvette are not going away any time soon and Chev are bringing back the Camaro.

If I were you I would look into the Japanese high performance 4 cylinders. the Mitsubishi Evolution pushes 300 horse power stock, and just by throwing on a good aftermarket exhaust you can push it over 300 the my buddy has one he put and exhaust a performance radiator and a boost regulator on his and he is at about 330 for under a $1000 not including installation. I have ridden in this car and it is one of the fastest things I have been in. My brother is a mechanic and has a 5.0 mustang gt with about $5000 so far in the engine and the evo beats down the 1/4 mile it also handles alot better than any affordable V8 on the market and with stock Brembo brakes you can stop on a dime. plus you can share the experience with 5 of your closest pals because Evolutions are 4 door sedans and they have all wheel drive so while your buddies V8 is sitting in the garage during the winter you will be cruising through snow drifts at 100mph on your way to the slopes. The Evo has a faster 1/4 mile than the shelby gt 500 one tenth of a second behind 0 to 60 at 4.6 seconds and the evo completly destroys the stock mustang gt. and the base corvette though the Z06 is faster and quicker it also costb $40,000 more. not bad for a four banger rice burner huh...?

But i dont think you have to worry about loosing the V8 since chevy is releasing the camaro in late 07 or early 08, and dodge will release the challenger, the mustang seems here to stay for awhile, and if you want even more cylinders theres the viper and a few Jags, bmw's mercedes around as well with 10 to 12 cylinders

While nothing may quite give you the feeling that roaring pistons and gasoline fumes do, take a look at this electric car:

The ZAP-X electric car, on the market soon for $60,000, sports 644 horsepower (using a motor for each wheel), a 350-mile driving range per charge, and can charge batteries in just 10 minutes. Top speed is 155mph. And it only costs a penny per mile in electricity.

relies upon on which transmission it has. If it has a 6 velocity handbook it is going to do this actual on the line. I even have heard as extreme as 28mpg with that tranny, yet you're able to ought to save your foot out of it. The 6 velocity has 2 overdrives and drops the RPMs at higherspeeds. the automated could get on the brink of that, however the only archives I even have heard has been the 6 velocity. additionally in case you keep your revs down inbetween shifts, the vehicle will do even extra advantageous.

You betcha. Unless you're 7 years old, you should be able do drive older cars (a car from this period of time) for many years to come.

Consider this; if you made all of the cars made before catalytic convertors illegal, how many cars would there be hauled of the roads? Millions. Tens of millions.

The US and Canada are so slow to implement standards, it could take another 30 years till they make new cars into eco freak mobiles.

well actually mosty U.S. vehicles are comeing equipped with flex fuel systems now. you'll have the same v-8 power but more enviromental gas. they can't keep the older v-8's off the road for awhile. i have three trucks that are still carburated, and i'm not getting rid of them anytime soon.

This is why I LOVE today's cars. You can buy a 500HP Corvette that will get 34 MPG in top gear. WHAT a deal!.
